The three Great Principles of Freemasonry are Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Relief, of course, is Charity, and Freemasons donate large sums to national and local charities.
Athelstan Lodge, like all other Lodges, makes donations to its own local deserving causes and every Province gives generously to causes on a County level.
On a national basis, we make donations via the four main Masonic Charities, outlined here.
The charitable work of The Athelstan Lodge is directed by The 1333 Trust, a charitable organisation registered with the Charity Commission.
Money is raised from donations made at Lodge meetings and raffles, etc, at social events. Many £1000s have been raised and disbursed over the years.
