There are two Deacons in a Freemasons’ Lodge: the Senior Deacon and the Junior Deacon.

They are responsible for guiding candidates during ceremonies in the Lodge; to ensure that the candidate is not left feeling vulnerable, and to ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly.
